Mais la baisse du co\u00fbt de la m\u00e9moire flash, l\u2019augmentation des d\u00e9bits propos\u00e9s par les FAI et l\u2019adoption de plus en plus courante de ports multi-gig sur les NAS vont de pair avec l\u2019usage de supports de stockage plus performants.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant si booster les performances de son NAS peut paraitre tentant, dans les faits le gain n\u2019est pas garanti. en avant les diff\u00e9rences entre les SSD et les HDD, il faut comparer les uns aux autres et autant\u00a0 dire qu\u2019ils n\u2019ont pas grand-chose en commun.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019image d\u2019un tourne-disque, <strong>un disque dur HDD utilise un bras de lecture<\/strong> pour \u00e9crire et lire des informations sur un plateau magn\u00e9tique qui tourne \u00e0 haute vitesse.<\/p>\n<p>Le stockage SSD (Solid State Drive) quant \u00e0 lui ne contient aucune pi\u00e8ce en mouvement. Il repose enti\u00e8rement sur la m\u00e9moire flash sous forme de <strong>micropuces sur lesquelles les donn\u00e9es sont lues<\/strong> en m\u00eame temps. On parle d\u2019endurance. \u00c0 partir du nombre maximum de donn\u00e9es \u00e9crit indiqu\u00e9 par le constructeur, on consid\u00e8re que le SSD peut \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme non fiable. Mais pas d\u2019inqui\u00e9tude, car dans la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 un SSD dure entre 2,5 fois et 60 fois plus que ce qui est communiqu\u00e9 par le fabricant. Sur le papier <strong>le SSD a une dur\u00e9e de vie plus courte<\/strong> que le HDD, mais dans les faits ce n\u2019est pas toujours vrai.<\/p>\n<p>Pas de mouvement de pi\u00e8ce implique une <strong>absence de bruit<\/strong>. Vous n\u2019entendrez donc plus que le bruit du ventilateur sur votre NAS.<\/p>\n<p>Ensuite, <strong>la consommation \u00e9lectrique d\u2019un SSD est r\u00e9duite d\u2019environ 60%<\/strong> compar\u00e9 \u00e0 un HDD, toujours li\u00e9 \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence de fonctionnement entre les deux types de disque dur. Le co\u00fbt \u00e9lectrique d\u2019un serveur NAS de 2 baies qui est utilis\u00e9 \u00e0 une fr\u00e9quence r\u00e9guli\u00e8re ne d\u00e9passera pas les 20\u20ac\/an, ce qui ne justifie pas l\u2019investissement dans des SSD avec pour seul objectif une r\u00e9duction des co\u00fbts, mais le gain reste int\u00e9ressant.<\/p>\n<p>Enfin les disques SSD sont plus petits que les HDD 3,5\u2019. Adopter une solution en full SSD ou combin\u00e9 avec du HDD 2,5\u2019 permet de <strong>r\u00e9duire la taille des boitiers<\/strong>. Synology proposait d\u2019ailleurs des boitiers grand public exclusivement r\u00e9serv\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019usage de disques 2,5\u2019 comme le DS419Slim et le DS620Slim, mais le fabricant n\u2019a pour l\u2019instant pas renouvel\u00e9 son mod\u00e8le. Vous pourrez aussi adapter la taille du boitier si vous <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/comment-fabriquer-son-propre-nas\/\">construisez vous-m\u00eame votre NAS<\/a> en full SSD.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Levolution_du_marche_des_disques_durs_SSD\"><\/span>L\u2019\u00e9volution du march\u00e9 des disques durs SSD<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Le SSD va <strong>progressivement remplacer le HDD<\/strong> qui ne sera \u00e9ventuellement conserv\u00e9 que pour stocker de grosses bases de donn\u00e9es dans des Datacenter par exemple. Le SSD n\u2019a que des avantages compar\u00e9s au HDD, mais c\u2019est le co\u00fbt et la capacit\u00e9 de stockage du moins importante du SSD qui ont ralenti son expansion sur le march\u00e9. Le HDD n\u2019est pas mort\u00a0; preuve en est, les fabricants continuent \u00e0 sortir <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/seagate-lance-un-disque-dur-ironwolf-pro-de-22-to\/\">des mod\u00e8les toujours plus gros<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mais le co\u00fbt de la m\u00e9moire flash a diminu\u00e9 au fur \u00e0 mesure des ann\u00e9es \u00e0 tel point <strong>qu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui les disques SSD sont largement abordables<\/strong>, bien que le co\u00fbt du gigabit reste sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui du HDD. Dor\u00e9navant m\u00eame sur des PC d\u2019entr\u00e9es de gamme on trouve des SSD, signe que ce type de stockage se d\u00e9mocratise.<\/p>\n<p>Alors dans quelle mesure <strong>est-il int\u00e9ressant d\u2019investir dans des disques SSD<\/strong> pour un serveur NAS\u00a0?<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pourquoi_utiliser_des_SSD_sur_un_serveur_NAS\"><\/span>Pourquoi utiliser des SSD sur un serveur NAS\u00a0?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ameliorer_la_mise_en_cache\"><\/span>Am\u00e9liorer la mise en cache<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Ce qui est majoritairement recherch\u00e9 par les utilisateurs de NAS qui investissent dans du SSD, c\u2019est l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration de la mise en cache. <strong>Cette solution est la plus \u00e9conomique<\/strong> puisqu\u2019elle ne n\u00e9cessitera d\u2019installer du SSD que partiellement tout en permettant de conserver une capacit\u00e9 de stockage \u00e9lev\u00e9 avec du HDD.<\/p>\n<p>Coupl\u00e9 avec des disques durs HDD, les fichiers les plus utilis\u00e9s ou les transferts de donn\u00e9es en cours passeront par le SSD, ce qui permettra de <strong>doubler voir de quadrupler la vitesse de gestion des t\u00e2ches courantes<\/strong>. Cependant, si vous voulez conserver une <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/raid\/\">configuration en RAID<\/a> de vos donn\u00e9es, vous devrez soit poss\u00e9der un NAS avec un minimum de 3 baies, soit un NAS proposant des emplacements\u00a0M.2 2280 permettant d\u2019ajouter des <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/ssd-nvme-pour-nas-mise-en-cache\/\">SSD NVMe<\/a> sp\u00e9cifiquement pr\u00e9vus \u00e0 cet usage.<\/p>\n<p>Ce type de NAS est de plus en plus courant. En gros, plus vous avez de RAM dans votre NAS, plus la taille de cache pourra \u00eatre importante (dans les limites de la taille du SSD).<\/p>\n<p>Il est recommand\u00e9 d\u2019utiliser un disque SSD d\u2019une taille correspondant \u00e0 10% de la capacit\u00e9 totale des disques durs apr\u00e8s RAID. Mais cela d\u00e9pend avant tout de la fr\u00e9quence d\u2019utilisation et du nombre de fichiers utilis\u00e9s. Si vous voulez aller plus loin dans l\u2019optimisation, l\u2019id\u00e9al est m\u00eame d\u2019utiliser deux SSD, l\u2019un pour le cache en lecture et l\u2019autre pour le cache en \u00e9criture.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Augmenter_les_performances\"><\/span>Augmenter les performances<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Le principal avantage des SSD c\u2019est la vitesse d\u2019acc\u00e8s aux donn\u00e9es bien plus importante que sur des HDD. <strong>Avec un taux de transfert de plus de 500 Mo\/s <\/strong>pour un SSD SATA, et jusqu\u2019\u00e0 16000 Mo\/s pour un <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/es\/ssd-nvme-pour-nas-mise-en-cache\/\">SSD NVMe<\/a> de Gen5<strong>, vous serez avant tout limit\u00e9 par la capacit\u00e9 de votre mat\u00e9riel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Voici la capacit\u00e9 de transfert en fonction de votre connexion\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 Gb\/s = 128 Mo\/s<\/li>\n<li>2,5 Gb\/s = 320 Mo\/s<\/li>\n<li>5 Gb\/s = 640 Mo\/s<\/li>\n<li>10 Gb\/s = 1,25 Go\/s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pour profiter de telles vitesses, vous devrez faire en sorte d\u2019avoir le moins de goulots d\u2019\u00e9tranglement possible sur votre r\u00e9seau. Le premier goulot peut se produire d\u00e8s la sortie du NAS si vous ne b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiez pas d\u2019un <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/multi-gig\/\">port multi-gig<\/a>. Vous devrez \u00e9galement vous \u00e9quiper d\u2019un <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/switch-ethernet\/\">switch compatible<\/a> ou d\u2019un routeur proposant plusieurs ports multi-gig. Enfin votre ordinateur (ou tout autre appareil utilis\u00e9 pour administrer le NAS) doit aussi \u00eatre adapt\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Dans tous les cas, il peut \u00eatre judicieux d\u2019envisager de <strong>compartimenter vos volumes de stockage<\/strong> pour r\u00e9duire les co\u00fbts et rationaliser le taux d\u2019utilisation versus la performance. On appelle \u00e7a un pool de stockage.<\/p>\n<p>On peut imaginer par exemple que vous conserviez des fichiers personnels sur des HDD et que vous partagiez avec d\u2019autres utilisateurs les donn\u00e9es pr\u00e9sentes sur des SSD. Si vous \u00eates dans la cr\u00e9ation de contenu, cela peut \u00eatre int\u00e9ressant \u00e9galement de travailler sur des fichiers stock\u00e9s sur du SSD et d\u2019archiver vos cr\u00e9ations sur du HDD.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reduire_le_bruit\"><\/span>R\u00e9duire le bruit<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Certains utilisateurs ont des contraintes techniques li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019installation de leur NAS \u00e0 domicile. Si vous souhaitez installer un NAS dans une chambre, vous devrez avoir le sommeil lourd pour ne pas \u00eatre d\u00e9rang\u00e9 durant la nuit. Particuli\u00e8rement si vous avez planifi\u00e9 des sauvegardes automatiques pendant cette p\u00e9riode.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Des SSD permettront alors de supprimer tout bruit de vibrations<\/strong> des disques durs. Et si le bruit du ventilateur vous d\u00e9range, vous pourrez toujours opter pour un NAS sans ventilateur comme le <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/qnap-hs-264\/\">QNAP\u00a0HS-264<\/a> ou <a href=\"https:\/\/monserveurnas.com\/test-asustor-flashstor-6-flashstor-12-pro\/\">l\u2019Asustor Flashstor 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Le_type_de_connexion_du_SSD\"><\/span>Le type de connexion du SSD<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"SSD_SATA\"><\/span>SSD SATA<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Les disques SSD SATA sont les plus couramment utilis\u00e9s<\/strong> sur les serveurs NAS.
